“Sunny Ocean to Ocean Quarter Marathon & Relay Running
sunrise to sunset Pacific (Lang Suan) to Indian (Ranong)"

     After Ranong Running Club, Chumporn Running Club, and Vejthani-Robwang Running Club have teamed up to hold the “2nd Full Moon Ocean to Ocean Relay Running (sunset to sunrise – Indian Ocean (Ranong) to Pacific Ocean (Lang Suan) on the night of January 10th 2009 had been a great success with desires from Governors of Choomporn and Ranong to host this event every year. Therefore, the 3rd Relay Running will be a reverse route from the 2nd starting from Paknam Lang Suan District, Chumporn Province (Pacific Ocean) at the sunrise of November 1, 2009 and finish at Kieng Lay Restaurant, Ranong Province at the sunset. The competition is called “Sunny Ocean to Ocean Relay Running (sunrise to sunset) Pacific Ocean (Lang Suan) to Indian Ocean (Ranong)”. Meanwhile on the 4th Relay Runinng will be “Full Moon Ocean to Ocean Relay Running” which is the same as the 2nd and the route will be revesed between Ranong and Chumporn Provinces on the Fullmoon of November every year.

     Hence, to encourage runners from Ranong and Choomporn provinces to participate yearly, the organization has establish the Quarter Marathon (Total distance of 10 km.) on the sunrise of November 1, 2009 starting at 6.00 from Pak Nam Lang Suan District to the finish line at Lang Suan District, Chumporn Provice. Meanwhile, another Quarter Marathon will be held on the sunset of Ranong Province at 18.00 to the finish line at Kieng Lay, Ranong Province. Both of the events is called “Ocean to Ocean Quarter Marathon”
 
     
 
     Objective
 
 
1. To promote tourism of Ranong, a province with one of the top three best mineral water and many incredible sightseeings. It is also to promote Chumporn Province as a route with great site for conservationsits, especially on Patoh District, a district on the top of the mountain with a headspring and beautiful scenery.
2. To promote good health by running as well as to create friendship between runners domestically and internationally.
3. To promote tourism in attracting internal runners to feel the beautiful nature of 2 provinces in the south of Thailand.
4. To set an example of exercising to citizens of both provinces, especially with 112 km. long would enroute through the communities which everyone can participate.
   
 
 
     Relay Runing Route
 
 
  Quarter Marathon
1. Lang Suan District, Chumporn Province, starting from Paknam Lang Suan District at the HTMS Chakri Naruebet Monument towards Hua Krang Road and turn right at Sukhaphibarn 3 Road on Highway 4002 to the finish line at Lang Suan District, with the total distance of 10 km.
2. Ranong will start at the Central Stadium and turn left of Highway 4 to Suan Mung Kud Intersection to turn left towards Bamrungsatharn Road and turn right to Highway 4010 to run to the end and turn left to the finish line at Kieng Lay Restaurant.
   
 
 
     Sunny Ocean to Ocean Relay Running
 
 
 
     Starting out at HTMS Chakri Naruebet Monument along the Quarter Marathon Route to Khao Nguan Road then turn right to Highway 41 to Wang Tha Kor Intersection and turn left to Highway 4006 passing Patoh District to Rachakrud Intersection and turn right to Highway 4 to Ranong and to Central Stadium of Ranong according to Qurater Marathon of Ranong Route
   
 
 
     Running Process
 
 
  1. Quarter Marathon
     - Lang Suan, Chumporn Province, starting at 06.00 and finish at 08.00. Ranong Province, starting at 16.30 and finish at 18.30.

2. Sunny Ocean to Ocean Relay Running , a relay running with approximate distace of 120 km. divided into 24 relays.
   
 
 
      Running Time
 
 
 
     The judging of this event will start the timing from the start line to relay 25 including the running time of the last runner of the team running from relay 25 to the finish line. The team with the fastest time wins and followed respectively from the fastest to the slowest.
   
 
 
      Categories
 
 
  Open 8 runners : All genders and ages.
  Woman Open : All ages 
  Master Open 8 runners : Minimum total age of 320 years.
  Senior Open 8 runners : Minimum total age of 400 years.
  Mixed Open : At least 2 women in a team.
  Mixed Master : At least 2 women in a team, minimum total age of 300 years.
  Mixed Senior : At least 2 women in a team, minimum total age of 380 years.
  Youth age 8 – 15 years : Maximum total age of 96 years.
  Youth age 8 – 15 years : Maximum total age of 120 years.
 
     
 
      Runner Service
 
 
 

The organizer will provide food, drinks, and energetic drink for participaints throughout the competition. However, the service car must be provided by the team.

  Quarter  Marathon    : T shirt will be given to all runner.  The medal will be divided into 2 pieces, one will be received at the finish line of Lang Suan District Office and the other one will be received at another finish line at Kieng Lay Restaurant in Ranong Province.
   
  Sunny Ocean to Ocean Relay Running :    
       - The winning team with the lowest running time will receive a trophy from the Governor.
       - Top 1-5 teams of each category will receive a trophy.
       - Every runner who passes the finish line will receive Finisher jacket and medal.
       - Relay stick will be given to each team for souvenir.

  - Sunny Ocean to Ocean Relay Running 3,000 baht/ team
  - Quarter Marathon 200 baht / person
